UPM: Magazine paper price increase for contractual business in Europe

UPM announced price increases for contractual magazine paper business as of beginning 1 January 2006. The increase per tonne is EUR 50 for coated and EUR 40 for SC and uncoated mechanical papers. The increase follows UPM's August price increase announcement of 6 - 8 % for non-contractual and new business.
The magazine paper prices have increased in all other regions but Europe with more than 10 % during 2005 driven by healthy demand and sharply increasing costs.
